After selling more than 6 million units in other countries, the iPhone is finally here (officially). Australians can now get their hands on the iPhone 3G, Apple's second-generation mobile.

Canon has recently revamped its SLR line-up with a new entry-level product, the EOS 1000D. Replacing the 400D at the bottom of its SLR range, this new product is yet to be given an official price. However, given the general cost structure of Canon's SLR line, it is sure to be quite affordable. Sporting a 10.1-megapixel (Mp) sensor, Live View and most of the usual bells and whistles, this camera is another stellar option for an enthusiastic photographer and a great way to make the jump into SLR territory.

Targeting travel enthusiasts and those after a bit more zoom in their life, Panasonic's latest TZ series model, the TZ11, doesn't offer up too many surprises. However that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The intelligent automatic modes have been given a makeover and the combination of the large 10x optical zoom and a 28mm lens makes for some great variety in shot composition.

With an entry-level price tag and features to match, Nikon's CoolPix L18 is a pretty basic compact camera. Its 8-megapixel sensor snaps reasonable pictures but its operation can be quite sluggish. However, if you're after a no-fuss, happy-snap unit then it may be up your alley.

Codenamed after a Japanese sword, the "Kodachi", Lenovo's new ThinkPad X300 is indeed both slim and sharp, and offers some of the latest in notebook technology with one of the smallest chassis available on the market. It's not fair to call it a competitor for the MacBook Air, but the X300 is a very attractive alternative if you're more concerned with function than you are with style.

The 8710w isn't a typical desktop replacement notebook: it's a professional mobile workstation. It's not flashy and it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a typical consumer notebook. What it does have is a high-end NVIDIA Quadro graphics chip, which enables it to power through demanding workloads for users of design and 3-D rendering programs.

Sitting at an attractive price point and combining a 10-megapixel (Mp) sensor with a fairly extensive array of features, Kodak's Z1085 IS camera seems like good value for money and for the most part it is. However, it does have several image quality and performance issues that may irritate some users.
